Mission Statement
Since the beginning of time, we as humans, have made tremendous efforts to better understand the world around us. While we have come so far in terms of explaining and rationalizing the phenomena that we experience everyday, it was not without many endeavors, both successful and unsuccessful. Along the way, mankind has changed his rationalizations of those experiences which lacked satisfying explanations.
Today, we see these rationalizations of the past as myths, folklore, legends, sometimes even as religious thought, and more often than not, aspects of science.
The Paranormal Education and Investigative Research Society is dedicated to understanding the past interpretations of inexplicable phenomena and furthermore, using these ideas and our current understanding of the world in which we live to further our understanding of things that science has shoved aside or that most have deemed too fantastic or unlikely to warrant real research. It is with this spirit of discovery and longing for better understanding of things deemed “paranormal” that our group sets out to experience and try to understand these phenomena.
It is our hope that through our research and thought, combined with the experiences of those in our communities, we can begin to develop an understanding that will allow us to truly quantify, understand, and even predict phenomena that are currently deemed “paranormal”. The status of these unexplained observations and experiences are only temporarily “paranormal” as one day, our striving for answers will result in truth and the “paranormal” will become a part of rational thought.
We invite any who care to share their experiences, lend insight, or recommend topics of research to aid in this age of discovery to communicate freely with us. We also aim to aid those who may be affected adversely by “paranormal” occurrences by helping them understand their special situation. To further understanding, to serve our commnunities, and to educate future generations about things unexplained; that is the purpose of PEIRS.
